"Educating all to a pure life in Christ through Worship, Discipleship, Counseling, and Teaching in the Power of the Holy Spirit."
In the early part of 2004 Monique LeMaire was called into ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ. Initially, Pure Ministries was founded as an Abstinence Education Ministry to young people and singles to encourage them to stay pure before marriage. This ministry was presented to a variety of local churches all of them refused to acknowledge the need for such a ministry!
Over the years, Pure Ministries grew into not just one, but now five different types of services to the community: First Christian Church of Aquidneck, The Rhode Island Christian Institute, Mission: America Prisons, The Ocean State Bible Society and the Jubilee Piano Academy.
Other projects that are in the works are: The Henrietta Mears Memorial Library which will be a subscription library of Christain works, classics, and seminary texts. Also, Absolute Truth Apologetics which will produce video instruction for the internet and local public access television.
Originally ordained with United Christian Ministries International, Monique also holds credentials with Christ's Church Fellowship as minister and chaplain. Her schooling includes: Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island and Associate of Arts in Music from SRU. Bachelor in Ministry and Diploma in Chaplaincy from United Christian Ministry Institute of Albion, Indiana. She started her Masters Degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary of Boston, and continues studies with Nations University.
Paul LeMaire, once an atheist, now a solid born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, and an Ordained Minister with Christ's Church Fellowship helps to minister with Pure Ministries. His education includes: a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education, and Graduate studies in a Masters in Education, both with Central Connecticut State University. He has been certified to teach in the public schools in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Besides working as a teacher, Paul has been in the bicycling industry for many years. He owned and operated "LeMaire Cycles" making customized bicycle frames for racing professionals and has made bicycle frames for the Olympic Games. He has cycled thousands of miles, participated in many races, has trained others for racing -- even one who raced in the Tour de France! Paul can easily say that he has ridden up and down Mt. Washington, N.H. at least three times on his bicycle!
Paul is starting his ministry to others known as "The Bicycle Ambassador for Christ." He has been reaching out to those in the bicycle industry here on Aquidneck Island sharing his testimony and telling others of the tremendous love of Christ. His favorite scripture is Matthew 22:37-40, which is summed up: "Love God and Love One Another."
Paul and Monique share the responsibility as ministers with Pure Ministries and First Christian Church of Aquidneck. Jesus is indeed our Pastor (read John 10:1-18), and we are His hands, eyes, ears and feet to those in need.
